Dr Tove Giske

Dr. Tove Giske is a professor in nursing at the Institute of Nursing at VID SpecializedUniversity, Bergen, Norway. She is a registered nurse with her master and PhD in

Nursing from the University of Bergen. Dr. Tove Giske enjoys teaching and doing research and collaborates with nurse educators and researchers in many countries such as Ghana, Sierra Leone, the Netherlands, the UK, and California. Her passion is education and research in spiritual care, and she has published extensively internationally and presented her work in many countries. Dr. Giske leads a research group at VID named SPIRCARE and an excellent research project called Spiritual Care Education and Practice Development (SEP) where she collaborates with international researchers. Collaborating with Dr. Pamela Cone and Dr. Wilfred McSherry has been especially fruitful.

Dr. Giske has been involved in NCF work in Norway since 1984 and continues to be on the editorial board of the Norwegian NCF journal. She has served 8 years in the European committee. She has also served on the NCFI International Board; 4 years as a board member, 8 years as the vice president, and from 2016 – 2021 as the President of NCFI.
